Prepare for the Holidays at Your Austin Apartment

family watching a movie in a festive holiday room

In a jiffy, Thanksgiving will be over, the stores in the local area will be stocked with holiday decorations, and the sound of holiday music will ring through your ears. In the Barton’s Mill Apartments Blog this week, we’ll share with you a few ways you can better prepare for the upcoming December holidays.

Music

Listening to some holiday music can get you in a festive mood. Department and grocery stores will have the same type of music on loop for shoppers, so it’s understandable to be worn out with specific songs. Try listening to the old classics like Let It Snow Let It Snow Let it Snow, Silver Bells, and I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus, or more modern songs like Elf’s Lament, Cold December Night, and Underneath The Tree.

Movies

Another way to get yourself into the holiday mood is by watching some movies! Whether they’re heartwarming, funny, or even sad, there are plenty of films you can watch! We suggest watching Home Alone, Elf, and The Santa Clause. Use this as an opportunity to spend some time with family, friends, or a significant other! It can also be a good idea to pop some popcorn or make some hot chocolate as a treat!

Shopping

Giving gifts is a large part of the holiday season. Not only is it a tradition, it’s also a good way for people to be charitable and to think of others. Shopping can get stressful and crazy around the holidays, so make a list of the presents you wish to purchase for your loved ones so you’re not scrambling around the mall dodging other frantic shoppers. We suggest getting your shopping done early to avoid the craziness!
